Bundle up! Winter-like chill moves in for the weekend

NBCUniversal Media, LLC

There’s going to be no way around it: it will feel raw this weekend.

It may still technically be fall, but it is going to feel like the middle of winter.

Temperatures overnight dipped below freezing -- making it the first freeze of the season. To put it into perspective -- it has not been this cold since March 2024.

This weekend marks a rare chilly stretch for us. The tri-state area stays well below average (upper 40s) through the next ten days.

The annual lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is Wednesday, and Storm Team 4 says there might be some festive flurries on the day.

If you are traveling back home after celebrating the holiday, you are in luck, because although it was a very wet Thanksgiving Day, clear skies and dry weather will be with us for the days to come.
