Breaking — also called breakdancing — is set to debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics next month. And one of its biggest stars hails from the five boroughs.

The sport, which originated in the 1970s on the streets of the Bronx, has 30 million fans. Breaking is largely popular due to its accessibility and the fact that no equipment is needed other than shoes and a speaker to play music.
