Thousands of affordable housing units coming to NYC thanks to controversial tax break

New York Gov. Kathy hochul said the way to solve NYC’s affordable housing crisis is to build. On Wednesday, the governor said about 71,000 new apartments will be developed in the city, including 21,000 affordable units, thanks to an extension to a controversial tax break for developers.
