Surprise for longtime Manhattan principal on her last day before retirement
For the last 30 Years Aracelis Castellano-Folkes has educated the children of PS 165 on the Upper West Side — first as a paraprofessional, then as a teacher, and since 2011 as the school principal. But before that, she was a student at the school, too. She retired on Wednesday with a bittersweet surprise. NBC New York’s Chris Glorioso reports.
