It happened again for Les Bleus!
After Portugal’s 1-0 upset by Morocco earlier today, the 2018 World Cup champions took on Harry Kane and Co. in the fourth quarterfinal fixture of this year’s tournament, and boy was it wild.
Kylian Mbappe and the rest of Les Bleus defeated England in an intense 2-1 battle on Saturday.
In the 16th minute, France’s good passing paid off when Aurelien Tchouameni got a shot off the right side to put Les Bleus on the board first.
Then in the 53rd minute, superstar forward Harry Kane drilled one off a penalty kick to equalize the score 1-1.

France’s Olivier Giroud gave France the lead back in the 77th minute for his fourth goal of the tournament.
It was a whirlwind of back-and-forth for a while there, but Les Bleus came out with the win, just like they did in 2018. And here’s what fans had to say:

Mbappe, France’s leading scorer of the 2022 tournament so far, was definitely excited by the miss.
Twitter had a field day when England’s Marcus Rashford missed the final free kick in the 101st minute, ultimately losing the Three Lions’ their spot in the tournament.
