The 2023 NFL season is off and running, and the Week 2 schedule featured plenty of intrigue.
The action began in Philadelphia when the Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, 34-28.
From there, the Sunday slate featured eight 1 p.m. ET kickoffs and four games in the later window. In the early slate, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs rebounded against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers fell to 0-2.
The late window featured the New York Jets battling the Dallas Cowboys, but Zach Wilson and Co. never got going as Micah Parsons and Dallas cruised to a 30-10 win at home. An NFC West clash between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams also took the spotlight and after a promising first half, two second-half picks from Matthew Stafford helped Brock Purdy and Co. complete a 30-23 victory to move to 2-0.
But the game with the most drama occurred in Denver. The Broncos led the Washington Commanders 21-3 before falling apart and trailing 35-24 in the fourth. Then Russell Wilson miraculously completed a Hail Mary to make it 35-33 to give Denver one last chance at the death, but the two-point conversion failed. Denver fell to 0-2.

Sunday Night Football featured the Miami Dolphins in New England facing the Patriots. After a dominant first half by Miami in which it led 17-3 at the break, Mac Jones and Co. rallied to make things interesting late. However, it was Tua Tagovailoa and the Phins who held on for the 24-17 win.
Week 2 wrapped up with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Bryce Young made his home debut when the Panthers welcomed the New Orleans Saints to Carolina, but it didn't go as planned in the 20-17 loss. Then the other AFC North showdown of the week saw the Pittsburgh Steelers turn in two defensive touchdowns to beat the Cleveland Browns 26-22, though Nick Chubb's injury is a major blow for the latter side.
