The investigation into allegations that NYPD officers fix tickets appears to be expanding.
The New York Post reported Sunday that as many as 400 police officers may be disciplined for fixing tickets for friends and relatives.
Separately, a Bronx grand jury has also been hearing evidence against some 40 officers suspected in the ticket scandal, according to previous media reports.
The Post says that officers in all 12 Bronx precincts are under fire for allegedly missing court dates or misplacing paperwork to help family and friends
beat tickets. Officers disciplined under the NYPD's internal system could face penalities ranging from loss of vacation days to termination.
However, if officers took money or altered documents, they could be criminally charged with bribery or obstruction of justice, the paper reported.
"This is huge," a law enforcement source told the paper.
