New NYC memorial coming to Queens for post 9/11 service members

A new memorial is being planned in Queens to honor the 99 service members from NYC who were killed in Afghanistan and Iraq in the time after 9/11. It is expected to be built in Whitestone, along the waterfront near the Utopia Parkway Seawall, as part of a refurbished walkway and bike path.
