A Virginia woman woke up early Saturday to a stranger in her bed kissing her on the cheek, according to Arlington police.
The victim was asleep when the man entered her unlocked apartment in the 3400 block of Columbia Pike before 3:30 a.m., police said.
“When officers arrived on scene, we determined that the female victim was asleep in a residence when she was awoken to an unknown male suspect, who kissed her on the cheek,” said Ashley Savage of Arlington police.
The man left when the woman confronted him, police said, but terrified he might still be in the apartment, she quickly texted 911.
“When we arrived on scene, she was obviously very distraught from the incident,” Savage said.
Officers located a man matching the description still in the apartment building.
They arrested 37-year-old Dominus Dayton and charged him with unlawful entry and assault and battery, police said. He was held without bond.
