A Palm Beach County woman, who 13 years ago began creating several day spas in South Florida, is getting a lot of unwanted attention Friday.
This, after the Miami Herald reported she once owned a Jupiter day spa shut down in a highly publicized prostitution sting.
The reason for all the attention: Li "Cindy" Yang is apparently an exuberant supporter of President Donald Trump, snagging selfies with the president and his wife at a Super Bowl party at a Trump golf club last month and posting them on her Facebook page.
And Trump is close to part-time Palm Beach resident Robert Kraft, the most famous of hundreds of men charged in a multi-county prostitution investigation.
The billionaire Kraft’s New England Patriots were playing on the big screens at the party attended by Yang, Trump and what appear to be several dozen others at Trump International Golf Club on Feb. 3. (Price of admission: $75 for adults, including open bar.)
Now the connection: Kraft is charged with two prostitution-related misdemeanors stemming from what police say was his conduct inside a Jupiter business owned by Yang more than five years before the alleged crime. Kraft has entered a not guilty plea to the charges and has denied breaking the law.
Yang told the NBC 6 Investigators she "never did illegal stuff" when she owned the day spas, a business she said she got out of about five years ago. She has never been charged with a crime and the Herald reports it found no criminal charges against her employees, though anonymous online postings and two police investigations raised suspicions.
U.S. & World
The Herald reported her husband and parents still appear in records as being associated with businesses that run day spas, though not the one at issue in the recent investigation.
But, Yang said in an interview, that's a business she "hasn't done for years."
As for pictures on her Facebook page of her with the president, first lady, Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Sen. Rick Scott, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and boxing promoter Don King – often taken as she clutches a jewel-encrusted purse that spells out MAGA – Yang said, "I go to lots of parties and take pictures."
Yang is listed as CEO of a company, GY US Investments LLC, formed in 2017 and described on its website as "an international business consulting firm that provides public relations services to assist businesses in America to establish and expand their brand image in the modern Chinese marketplace."
She is also listed in state records as a vice president of a non-profit called Women’s Charity Foundation, which says it raises funds for the disabled.
One of its sponsors: Tokyo Beauty and Massage School of Palm Beach Gardens, a business Yang was listed as a manager of until 2017.
