A wildfire is now contained after burning more than 400 acres in Pemberton, New Jersey.
The fire started at the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest Monday night. On Tuesday, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the fire was 100% contained after burning 407 acres.
Residents were asked to avoid the area as crews worked to control the spread on Monday. The fire does not currently pose a threat to homes or buildings however and no injuries were reported.
With temperatures rising this week, a lack of rain and dry ground, the threat of wildfires continues to grow. An alert was sent from the county sheriff's department prohibiting open burning in Ocean County, New Jersey, until further notice.

"Moving forward, the concern rises every day, even though we're at the end of our fire season, the dry conditions change the game just a little bit," Rob Gill of the NJFFS said.

Investigators are currently trying to figure out what started both fires. They're urging everyone to be extremely careful with anything that could spark a wildfire.
