Stephen Dorff is surely enjoying the bump his career is getting thanks to "Somewhere."
Dorff is stepping into the lead role in "Boot Tracks," a part for which Matt Dillon was previously slated, reported Variety. Also in the film are Dorff's "Somewhere" co-star Michelle Monaghan and Ray Winstone.
Based on the novel by Matthew F. Jones, the film tells the story of Charlie Rankin (Dorff), an ex-con who joins forces with an ex-porn star (Monaghan) to kill a guy as a favor for Buddha (Winstone), a guy he met in prison.
We hated "Somewhere," but Dorff was not the problem, and the one scene he had with Monaghan was hilarious--one can't help but wonder if she recommended him to director David Jacobson ("Down in the Valley").
Dorff can next be seen Sept. 9 in "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," about a guy who follows his parents into the porn indsutry; and Nov. 11 in "Immortals."
