Bret Michaels' mended heart is with his homestate Pittsburgh Steelers, who are looking for teir unprecedented seventh Super bowl victory.
Michaels, who underwent surgery to repair a hole in his heart last month, has been following the team in black throughout the playoffs. That included taking in their victory over the New York Jets the night before his Jan. 24 surgery, the Poison frontman told People magazine.
"Having the Steelers win (in the playoffs) the night before my surgery was a sweet gift," he said.
The 47-year-old rocker and "Celebrity Apprentice" champion is recuperating at his Arizona home. The surgery was prompted by doctors' discovery of the hole after it caused a "warning stroke" last year. That stroke followed a rash of health problems for the diabetic singer, including an emergency appendectomy and a brain hemorrhage.
Michaels grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania, rooting for the Steelers in their 1970s heyday.. He often plays a guitar that bears the team's logo.
