Friendly, Purple Dinosaur Swallows Teen's Head

Alabama teenager Darby Risner was at a sleepover Sunday evening when she tried to scare her friends by wearing a giant Barney head. Her prank seriously backfired when the costume head slipped over her arms and she realized she was stuck. When rubbing the teenager down with Vaseline didn’t do the trick, Risner’s friends drove to the Trussville Fire Department for help. “They laid me down on the floor and Meredith took my feet and Sam took my head and they both like pulled in opposite directions,” Risner said. Though she couldn’t see anything, Risner said she could hear the firefighters laughing when she was led inside the station. Lt. Vince Bruno of the Trussville Fire Department said the whole ordeal was a bit comical. “It looked kind of like a dinosaur’s arms because she could bend from the elbows down,” he said. The firefighters had to cut slits into the costume before the giant head would come off.
