Nearly a month after indicted on federal corruption charges, Mayor Eric Adams is getting support from a surprising source: former President Donald Trump, who says the NYC mayor is being “persecuted.” There is some speculation Trump could try to overturn the charges against Adams if he wins the election, putting Adams under some pressure to disavow his highest-profile new supporter. NBC New York’s Melisa Russo reports.
