A woman was struck and killed while crossing a street in the Bath Beach section of Brooklyn Thursday afternoon, police say.
The victim, 56-year-old Alfiya Djuraeva, was crossing 20th Avenue in Bath Beach when the driver of a 1997 Buick made a left turn onto Bath Avenue from 20th, hitting Djuraeva, police said.
Djuraeva was taken to Lutheran Hospital with trauma to her head and torso, and later pronounced dead.
Police said the 74-year-old driver, Giovani Romano of Howard Beach, Queens, stayed on the scene. He's been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
