Police have identified a woman who was found mutilated in a Queens park with slash wounds to her neck and abdomen.
The body of Qing Qing Kiemde, 28, was discovered just before 3 p.m. inside Kissena Park near Golden Street and Laburnum Avenue in Flushing, said police, who had responded to a report of an unconscious person.
Kiemde was pronounced dead at the scene. She had last been seen by her father Saturday morning around 8 a.m. The father told detectives it was not unusual for Kiemde to travel for several days at a time before returning home.
The father said Kiemde was living in Queens with her family; she had gotten divorced six months ago. There is no history of domestic violence in her former marriage, authorities say, and it's not clear if police were looking to speak with her ex-husband.
The investigation is ongoing.
