Upper East Side Thief Has New Take on Grandparent Scam

The thief took the scam — which involves calling an older person, telling them their grandchild is in legal trouble, then saying they need to send cash — and made it more personal, showing up to collect the victim’s money in person. The suspect has already gotten about $10,000 from each of his three victims. NBC 4 New York’s Erica Byfield reports.
