Two women died as a fire ripped through their Queens home early Monday, police say. It was initially reported to possibly be suspicious, but officials said later in the day that no longer appeared to be the case. Rana Novini reports.

Two women died as a fire ripped through their Queens home early Monday, police say. It was initially reported to possibly be suspicious, but officials said later in the day that no longer appeared to be the case.

Authorities said the women, one believed to be in her 40s, the other in her 60s, were taken to a hospital after their Wheatley Street home in Far Rockaway went up in flames around 4 a.m.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Fire officials said the flames engulfed the first two floors of the house. The identities of the two women have not been released.

It's not clear what sparked the fire.
