A woman and a 4-month-old are dead after a reported drive-by shooting on New Britain Avenue in Hartford Tuesday afternoon.
The police department said a triple shooting broke out in broad daylight near the corners of Hillside Avenue and Zion Street just before 3 p.m.
Authorities said a person dropped off three people at the hospital. A 20-year-old woman and an infant later died. Police believe the two are mother and son.
The name of the woman and infant have not yet been released.
The third person shot has non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Lt. Aaron Boisvert said a car pulled up alongside a second vehicle and started shooting.

Police said they're investigating the shooting as a double homicide. It happened near a busy grocery store.

There is a large police presence at Hartford Hospital, where the shooting victims were dropped off.
"Horrible, absolutely horrible. It's all I can say about that," Boisvert said.
Officers say while they have a pretty good idea of what happened, they're still piecing together what led to the deadly gunfire.
The violence in the middle of the day comes amid concerns for some about crime and safety. Others were surprised to hear about something like this unfolding so close to their home.
"I just stay, stay out of the streets. You know, and I, I'm pretty safe. I never, you know, see this happening around here," Jose Santiago, of Hartford, said.
Detectives are conducting an investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
