The trust-endowed son of famed talk-show duo Tex McCrary and Jinx Falkenburg has hoarded so much junk in his Upper East Side apartment that he stores the spillover in a van outside his building and monitors his possessions from a nearby bench.
Kevin McCrary, a self-described "collector of some sort" who is unemployed and lives off his parents' estate, stuffed his green Ford E250 so full of cables, VCRs and other items that he had to resort to stowing stuff in suitcases on the roof of the vehicle, according to The New York Post.
The 64-year-old McCrary appeared in an October episode of the A&E show "Hoarders," though he doesn't use the particular term to describe himself.
Still, his neighbors are fed up with his behavior. The building's owners tried three times to evict him to no avail, according to the Post, and some residents complain about having to walk past his his overstuffed van with their pets.
"I don't know what's in there," one neighbor who sidesteps the vehicle when he's with his pet beagle told the Post. "I avoid it like the plague."
For his part, McCrary says he might like to have more companionship in his life, but right now he doesn't have any physical room for a girlfriend.
McCrary is the son of newsman Tex McCrary and supermodel Jinx Falkenburg, whose radio show "Tex and Jinx" was among the first news talk radio shows.
The glamorous couple also dabbled in television with NBC. Both died in 2003 and received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their contributions to the television industry.
