A Long Island high school teacher was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after she allegedly hit a parked car, fled the scene and then was found in her school parking lot.
Suffolk County Police say the 47-year-old Center Moriches High School teacher drove her Hyundai into a Plymouth Voyager parked on Brookfield Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, and left the scene.
Police canvassed the area and found her about a mile away in the parking lot of the school.
Tracey Forman is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving while ability impaired. The Patchogue resident was free on bail after an arraignment Tuesday.
Her lawyer declined comment.
Prosecutors say Forman had a prior arrest in December on a charge of shoplifting $347 in merchandise from a department store.
