NBC Universal, Inc.

New video reveals a suspected drunk driver’s path of destruction down a Paterson neighborhood. News 4’s Jessica Cunnington reports.

One man's booze-fueled joyride left a wake of destruction and half a dozen injuries on a series of New Jersey blocks Saturday night, finally culminating in an arrest, authorities said.

Police said the driver responsible for wreaking havoc down a long stretch of Paterson damaged approximately 16 vehicles faces DWI charges, but additional charges could come later.

From Straight Street to Madison Avenue, the man's black pickup truck was seen slamming into parked car after parked car -- striking six pedestrians along the way.

Video recovered from the chaos that started around 10 p.m. shows the truck repeatedly crunching metal as the driver sideswipes some vehicles and outright slams into others.

Police said the arrested driver plowed into multiple parked cars. News 4's Melissa Colorado reports.

One person traveled by personal means to a local hospital for treatment, and the other five pedestrians were taken care of by EMS at the scene, Paterson officials said.
