N, Q Subway Service Restored Between Queens, Manhattan After Track Fire Prompts Suspensions

Subway service on two lines has been restored after a track fire forced suspensions at the peak of Tuesday's morning commute, officials said.

Service on the N and Q lines was shut down in both directions between Queensboro Plaza in Queens and 57th Street in Manhattan around 8:30 a.m. because of the track fire between Queensboro Plaza and Lexington Avenue.

Service was restored after about an hour, but lingering delays were expected.
