Subway Cars That Debuted in 1969 Make Final Run

The R-42 subway cars first hit the tracks in 1969 — the same year the MTA was founded — and were the first completely air conditioned cars. Joining them on their farewell ride was outgoing MTA Chief Andy Byford, who enjoyed one final public goodbye as well. NBC New York’s Andrew Siff reports.
