A large sinkhole swallowed up an SUV and closed down a road on Long Island.
 
Suffolk County police say the sinkhole in Smithtown was reported Tuesday morning by the driver of the SUV whose car got stuck in it.

Authorities said there was a water main break at around 4:30 a.m. that caused the ground to open up at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and Cambridge Drive.

Mount Pleasant Road was closed between Daisy Lane and Cambridge Drive.
 
No injuries have been reported.
