Singer Gavin DeGraw has been released from the hospital after being assaulted early Monday morning in the East Village.
DeGraw's publicist said the singer was released Tuesday evening.
Sources say the assault occurred along First Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets between 3:40 a.m. and 4:20 a.m., and police are now searching for surveillance video and witnesses who may have seen something.
In a statement, his record label said: "Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time."
DeGraw told police that several white and Hispanic men assaulted him, causing a broken nose and a fracture to the bone around his eye.
He then made his way to 19th Street and First Avenue, where he was struck by a cab. He was not seriously hurt from that incident.
A source says the "I Don't Want to Be" singer was highly intoxicated, which is complicating the investigation.

DeGraw did not initially report the assault to police, who learned of the attack only after being called by staff at Bellevue Hospital.
DeGraw has been touring with Train and Maroon 5. They were scheduled to perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs. He has canceled his appearances through Aug. 13.
DeGraw has a new album, "Sweeter," due out in September.
