Brooklyn Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct

A Brooklyn teacher has been accused of sexual misconduct involving a teenage girl.

Police say 33-year-old Urszula Jankowska was arrested Monday on charges of criminal sex act, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

It was not immediately known if she had an attorney.

Police said the alleged sexual misconduct occurred at various locations over the course of several weeks in the fall of 2011.

The Department of Education said Jankowska was immediately removed from the school following the allegations of sexual misconduct with a student. The victim's age was not released. Jankowska is working in an administrative capacity pending the outcome of the investigation, the DOE said.

The DOE said Jankowska was an English teacher at Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design. She had been at the school since August 2008 after working as an English teacher at Talent Unlimited High School in Manhattan for a year.
