Scent of Smoke From New Jersey Fire Makes Way to Brooklyn, Queens

The packages for many common treatments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) will soon contain informational booklets warning patients about the possible risks associated with taking these drugs. What are these risks?

Residents in Brooklyn and Queens may smell smoke from a large fire that burned Monday evening in South Jersey.

The fire spread through the woods of Manchester Township and Woodland Township near the border of Ocean and Burlington counties.

The fire, which was sighted early Monday afternoon, burned around 250 acres. Crews are working to contain the blaze to under 1,000 acres, but say it could take a few days to bring it completely under control.

Officials say no one was injured and there is no threat to any property so far. Authorities warned residents in surrounding communities that they may smell smoke.

It wasn't clear what sparked the fire.
