No one was hurt when a sailboat with children aboard capsized in the Hudson River, tossing the kids into the water, authorities say.

Three Marine units responded to the river north of the Spuyten Dyvil Bridge after the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department got a call about the capsized boat shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.

A Bronx yacht club had a group of small sailboats in the water at the time, and instructors had already pulled the kids out of the water by the time rescuers arrived. But the additional weight caused the instructors' boat to take on water, officials said.

The children were transferred to a rescue boat and taken back to the yacht club. The students on other boats were taken back to the club as well.

Authorities say river swells due to tide change and high winds had created unsafe conditions for the small training boats.
