Man's House Under Construction Robbed by Men Dressed in Yellow Hard Hats: NYPD

Police in the Bronx are searching for two suspects in a Bronx home invasion who dressed as construction workers.

Robbers dressed up as construction workers tied up a man inside his own home in the Bronx while waving around guns, the NYPD says.

On April 14, two men had disguised themselves as construction workers by wearing yellow hard hats and vests and made their way to the home in Baychester knowing that the house was under construction, police said.

The homeowner believed the men were there to work on the home and willingly let the suspects inside, according to officials.

Once the suspects were inside the home, they took out firearms and tied the victim up, authorities said.

A third man then walked inside a short time later and the three suspects stole a cell phone, jewelry and an undetermined amount of cash before running away, police said.

All three suspects are described to be in their 30s, according to the NYPD.

Police on Tuesday night released surveillance footage from the scene in hopes of catching the trio.
