Authorities are offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever intentionally set a fire on Long Island that consumed more than 1,100 acres of woodland.
The April 9 fire originated on the north side of the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory in Ridge and burned across the Pine Barrens, devastating wildlife and causing damage to several structures and vehicles.
The Brookhaven lab spans a 5,265-acre site in the Pine Barrens. No lab buildings were reported damaged.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
