Reputed Mobster Faces Drug Charges in NJ

Carlo Taccetta faces multiple drug offenses after he was found with 65 pounds of Marijuana during traffic stop in Montville

New Jersey state police say they found 65 pounds of marijuana in a pickup truck being driven by a reputed mobster.

Carlo Taccetta of Whippany faces multiple drug offenses following Saturday's traffic stop in Montville. He was being held on $75,000 cash bail, and it was not known Sunday if he had retained an attorney.

Authorities say an ongoing investigation led troopers to stop the pickup truck, and Taccetta granted troopers permission to search his vehicle. Further details on the investigation were not disclosed.

The case will be prosecuted by the state's Criminal Justice division.

State police say the 41-year-old Taccetta is a suspected soldier in the Lucchese Crime Family. His father, Michael Taccetta, is a suspected capo in the same crime family.
