K-Rock Rebooting Yet Again

Opie and Anthony shown the door as station goes from talk to rock to pop

CBS Radio has announce that WXRK in New York, better known as K-Rock, is switching to a Top 40 format.

The mostly classic rock station will change it's moniker to Now FM (92.3) and start playing music from acts like Beyonce, Kanye West, Pink, and Justin Timberlake.

Missing in the new lineup are radio bad boys Opie and Anthony, who's morning show was dropped by CBS in the format overhaul.

It's the station's third identity change since Howard Stern left them for satellite radio three years ago. CBS first tried a talk format then switched back to rock.

A spokeswoman says CBS Radio is hoping the format change will bring in a larger and more youthful audience.
