Pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested by the hundreds on Monday after blocking a number of bridges and tunnels in and out of Manhattan.
Multiple groups had gathered at the Holland Tunnel as well as the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges around 9:30 a.m. in the latest protest act demanding a ceasefire since the start of the war.
Police dispatched officers to each of the locations and started removing protesters. A spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department said an estimated 125 protesters at the tunnel were arrested.
A couple hundred people were also arrested between the three bridges: Brooklyn (94), Manhattan (87), and Williamsburg (28).
Traffic appeared to see significant impacts for about an hour before police were able to get the groups moved and cars moving once again.

The coordinate traffic shutdown on Monday morning was organized by a handful of groups, including Jewish Voice for Peace, Palestinian Youth Movement and Al-Awda: The Palestine Right to Return Coalition.
A joint statement from the groups said their protests call for five specific demands: "a permanent ceasefire, an end to the U.S. government’s arming of the Israeli regime, an end to the siege of Gaza, an end to Zionist occupation, and the release of all Palestinian political prisoners."
In the past three months, more than 450 demonstrations have been held across the five boroughs, Gothamist reported late last month.
In addition, protestors were demonstrating in the Wall Street area on Monday morning. The city was warning of protest activity in the area of Broadway and Wall Street.
The MTA said M9, M22, M55, and M103 buses were delayed because of protest activity in Lower Manhattan.
