A City University of New York student was found dead, facedown, in a water-filled bathtub inside her Manhattan apartment Thursday morning, police say.
Officers responded to a call of an unconscious and unresponsive woman inside of a building near West 23rd Street and Seventh Avenue just before 7:40 a.m., police said. They discovered Aryuna Dashidorzhina facedown in a water-filled bathtub inside her Chelsea apartment.
Her family hadn't heard from her in two days, and she didn't respond to a wellness call from police, according to authoritis.
Paramedics pronounced the 30 year old dead at the scene.
The CUNY City Tech student had no history of dizziness, and police believe she may have fallen into the tub. There were no signs of struggle or indication of criminality.
The medical examiner will detemine the cause of death, but authorities believe Dashidorzhina's death may have been an accidental drowning.
The investigation is ongoing.
