Legendary Giants QB Phil Simms' Son Arrested in Manhattan

Police say the son of legendary New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms has been arrested in Manhattan on charges of driving while on drugs.

Christopher Simms is a backup quarterback for the Tennessee Titans after being released by the Denver Broncos.

The 29-year-old was stopped on Houston Street at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say he appeared to be slurring speech and his eyes were red. They say he had apparently been smoking marijuana.

He was awaiting arraignment in Manhattan Criminal court. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney and a call to his agent wasn't returned.

His father is now an announcer and analyst for CBS Sports, and led the Giants to two Super Bowls.
