A 13-year-old student who had pepper spray around her neck as protection accidentally released it in her Brooklyn school Monday, authorities say.
Ten students were taken to Brookdale Hospital as a precaution after the incident at Kings Collegiate Charter School on Lenox Road, which took place shortly before 2 p.m., according to police.
The NYPD says the girl, an eighth-grader, bent down to grab something when the pepper spray went off.
The investigation is ongoing.
