A large section of a building's brick facade collapsed in the Bronx early afternoon Monday.
A 25 feet section of the building's facade came tumbling down to the ground shortly after 1 p.m., FDNY says.
Officials responded to the scene on 849 Sound View Ave. in Soundview and evacuated the surrounding businesses, including a hair salon, deli, check cashing store, post office and a pharmacy.
Though initially there were no injuries reported, officials now say there was one minor injury.
FDNY Deputy Chief Gary Rocco said that officials were "evaluating the rest of the stability of the building," adding that "a lot repair work" would have to take place before stores could reopen.
The Department of Buildings is investigating the collapse.
