The first day of one of New York City's biggest music festivals was washed out by Friday's severe weather.
The Panorama festival tweeted that it was canceling all shows scheduled for Friday due to the storms pushing through the region and evacuating Randall's Island, which hosts the event's stages.
"We are evacuating the island due to severe weather. Please exit the way you entered. Ferries and shuttles are running and the pedestrian bridge is open. Panorama has been cancelled for today and we will see you tomorrow," said in the tweet.
At least seventeen acts, including Migos, Father John Misty and headliner The Weeknd, were slated to perform on Friday.
Janet Jackson is slated to perform Saturday, and The Killers are the headlining act on Sunday. It's not clear if Friday's shows will be rescheduled.
Single-day passes for the event begin at $99 before fees; the event's website says shows would go on "rain or shine."

Later Friday night, the festival posted on its Facebook page that any single-day passholders would get full refunds, while festivalgoers who bought two- and three-day passes would get partial refunds. Visit Panorama's website for full details on the refunds.
Hundreds of music lovers took to Twitter and Instagram to vent about the cancellation, some even posting videos of fellow ticketholders cursing at the organizers near the main stage.
