The man who tried to rape a woman in the entryway of a Brooklyn building last month also sexually assaulted a second woman less than an hour before that attack, police say.
The man, identified Monday by the NYPD as 27-year-old Cortez Simmons, is wanted in the two attacks between 7 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 31
Police say he allegedly first accosted a woman walking near Patchen Avenue and Chauncey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 7:10 a.m. In that encounter, he allegedly lifted up the 33-year-old woman's skirt.
She then followed him, police say, and that's when the suspect allegedly raised his fist and threatened to punch her in the face.
Then, about 45 minutes later, the suspect allegedly followed a 32-year-old woman into the entryway of a building near Ralph Avenue and Bainbridge Street and tried to rape her, police say.
She fought off the attack, however, and the man allegedly took her cellphone and ran.
Anyone with information on Simmons' whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
