A school bus driver has been suspended amid an investigation into a crash in Brooklyn that injured six children and an adult, officials say.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Education said the driver has been removed from the job and is awaiting the outcome of NYPD's final report outlining the conclusion of their investigation.
"The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority," the spokeswoman said. "All students involved in the incident were taken to the hospital for observation and have been released."
The mini bus was traveling northbound on Fourth Avenue in Park Slope Friday afternoon when it tried to make a left turn onto First Street from a center lane, bypassing a white truck that was already waiting to make the same turn, and was broadsided by a Mustang, surveillance video obtained exclusively by NBC 4 New York shows. The impact flipped the bus onto its side.
"The Mustang sped right into it," said witness Marilyn Herrera.
Six children suffered minor injuries; the adult was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, according to fire officials.
The ages of the children were unclear; Herrera said they looked to be about 12 or so.

Neighbors say the intersection has become dangerous, nearly feeling like a highway. Multiple complaints have been posted to the city's Vision Zero website about the crossing, and the injury accident there was the third one in the last five weeks.
