Trick or treat, New Yorkers!
New York has plenty of pumpkin carving, candy eating and other fun activities for families to celebrate the ghoulish holiday.

1. Enjoy Cider All Over the City During New York City Cider Week
Enjoy fresh craft cider at your favorite restaurant, bars and retail shops all across New York City. Cider Week also includes free tastings, dinners and classes.

2. NY Adventure Club & doNYC's 2nd Annual Halloween Bash @ Ripley's Odditorium
Local
Check out a museum collection of 500 extraordinarily bizarre and unique finds from Robert Ripley, which range from the world’s largest collection of shrunken heads to an authentic 19-foot-tall albino giraffe. Once the doors close to the general public guests are free to navigate 20 themed rooms, a maze of lasers, compete in a costume contest and step through a Black Hole.

3. Watch Hundreds of Dogs All Dressed Up at the NYC Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade
You might find a princess Pomeranian or a rock-star Rottweiler at the country’s largest Halloween Dog Parade. If a park full of dogs doesn't sound irresistible enough, this community fundraiser will have a runway competition and the winner will receive thousands of dollars in prizes.

Giant pumpkins from around the country come together for a pumpkin extravaganza. Meet the growers to learn more about the growing process during Q&A sessions and enjoy photo ops with these giant gourds, on display through October 31.

5. Day of the Dead New York City 2017
Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is a time to honor and revere our deceased family members and ancestors. Join the City of New York and Mano a Mano to learn about the history and tradition. Check out trinkets at the marketplace, make buttons and participate in the altar making process.

6. Night of 1,000 Jack O’Lanterns
Night of 1,000 Jack O’Lanterns is arriving at New York Harbor this October. Check out the more than 1,000 illuminated pumpkins carved by artists from around the tri-state area. Enjoy the New York City skyline while on a ferry to Governor’s Island for the pumpkins, Halloween scenery and live pumpkin carving demonstrations

7. Make a Statement at the NYC Village Halloween Parade
Put on your boldest makeup, craziest wig or spookiest outfit! The 44th New York City Village Halloween parade invites only those in costume to an unforgettable night featuring hundreds of giant puppets, more than 50 bands, dancers, artists and thousands of New Yorkers showing off their own unique and creative disguise.

8. Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Flotilla at Central Park’s Harlem Meer
Bring the whole family and celebrate Halloween in Central Park. Enjoy pumpkin carving, Halloween crafts, spooky stories, a costume parade, and the Conservancy’s signature Pumpkin Flotilla, which sets sail across the Harlem Meer at twilight!

9. Bronx Zoo’s Boo at the Bronx Zoo
Check out the Bronx Zoo family friendly tradition that includes. Haunted Forest, Bootober Fest, Halloween Hayride, Nature Trek, Magic Show, Costume Parade, Crafts and a Candy Trail. Be sure to stop by their extinct animal Halloween graveyard.

10. American Museum of Natural History’s Mummies Exhibit
Discover when, how, and why ancient Egyptians and Peruvians were mummified and find out who they were in life. This show features an up-close look at rarely-exhibited mummies as well as interactive touch tables, rare artifacts, and cutting-edge imaging.

11. Enjoy face painting and tradition at Dia de los Muertos at Museo del Barrio
