Police have linked another forcible touching incident to Manhattan's so-called "well-dressed groper," who remains on the loose after a previous suspect was cleared of charges.
The incident happened Feb. 26, when the suspect approached a 31-year-old woman near Varick and King streets at about 11:15 a.m., grabbed her buttocks and fled, according to police.
Detectives Thursday also released new surveillance images of the suspect in connection with a previously announced touching incident at the Chambers and Centre Street subway station on March 30.
Police have been looking for the suspect since February and have released several surveillance photos and video of the man believed to be the groper. He has been described in each of the instances as "well dressed."
The developments come days after charges were dropped against 26-year-old Karl Vanderwoude, who was initially believed to be the suspect because of his resemblance to the man in the surveillance photos. He had alibis that checked out, according to his lawyer.
He told reporters Monday he was "just planning to get back to normal" after the media attention he received in the case.
