NJ Corrections Workers Die in Apparent Murder-Suicide: Police

Police say a man and a woman who were employed by the New Jersey Corrections Department died in an apparent murder-suicide in the home where they lived.

Officers found the bodies of the 43-year-old man, who was a senior investigator at Southern State Correction Facility, and 45-year-old woman, who was a senior guard at Bayside State Prison, in the Bridgeton home on Saturday night.

Police Chief Michael Gaimari tells The Daily Journal of Vineland the investigation indicates the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities have not yet released their names pending notification of relatives and due to the ongoing investigation.
