Bronx Family Searches for Missing Autistic Son

They believe 13-year-old Ross Harrison is missing in the subway

Police are still searching for a missing teen from the Bronx. Ross Harrison disappeared Tuesday on his way to the bus. His parents fear he ran away because he was getting bullied at school. Gus Rosendale reports.

A family in the Bronx is asking the public to keep an eye out for their autistic teenage son, who they say may be lost in the subway.

Ross Harrison, 13, ran off Tuesday when he was getting ready for school. His mother, Rosura Tabers, said Harrison had complained about a bully on the school bus before he disappeared out the front door along West 182nd Street in the Bronx.

"I don't know how he is, because he's never been by himself," said Tabers.

Harrison's father said he's heard reports his son has been on the subway in Manhattan. He has been leading searches of the subway system along with other family members.

"That's the only place we think he is, because he'd be scared to be on the street," said the elder Ross Harrison. "Especially because he's not good with the dark. He's probably sleeping and riding on the train."

The family hopes that if someone encounters the teenager, they will try to keep an eye on him and help get him home.

"Try to hold him, by talking nice to him, see if he'd stay -- and call the police," said Tabers.
