2 NJ Cops Hurt in Crash With Truck: Police

Two police officers had to be extricated from their patrol car after they crashed with a tractor-trailer truck in Morris County, authorities say.

The Mendham police officers were in their patrol car on Corey Lane and Mendham Road when the crash happened at about 8 p.m., police said. It's not clear what led to the crash.

Rescuers had to cut out the car to get to the officers because their vehicle was so badly damaged.

The officers were taken to Morristown Hospital with minor injuries. They're listed in stable condition.

A condition on the truck driver, who was also taken to the hospital, wasn't immediately available.

Corey Lane and Mendham Road remain closed as police investigate.
