A man identified as a Marine was stabbed during a dispute outside a bar in Midtown East Wednesday evening, law enforcement sources say.
Police said the 35-year-old victim was inside Turtle Bay Bar on Second Avenue, by 52nd Street, when he got into an argument with a group of men.
It escalated to a physical fight outside the bar, and the victim was stabbed in the shoulder, police said. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and released, hospital officials said.
The suspects, who were wearing what appeared to be Army fatigues, according to law enforcement sources, fled the scene.
Sources said the victim was a Marine who had a problem with the group of 5 to 7 men were drinking while in uniform. Officials believe the suspect and his friends are servicement, but police do not know which branch.
No arrest has been made, and police are investigating.
