Man Who Stabbed MetroCard Swipe Seller Inside Yankee Stadium Subway Station Arrested: Police

The subway rider who is accused of stabbing a man trying to sell swipes on his MetroCard at the Yankee Stadium subway station last week has been arrested, police sources said Tuesday night.

Siby Diarra, 22, of the Bronx, is charged with attempted criminally negligent homicide, assault and menacing, the NYPD said.

The victim got into an argument with Diarra near the turnstiles inside the station at 161st Street and River Avenue in the Concourse section on April 25 at about 2:15 p.m., according to police.

Diarra stabbed the swiper at least three times, sources said, not far from where the Transit District police office is located in the station.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital with a collapsed lung. He was listed in serious but stable condition.

Selling MetroCard swipes is illegal.
