Police are looking for two men who attacked a driver as he entered his SUV in Brooklyn on Thursday night.
The 61-year-old victim was entering his SUV, parked near Arlington Avenue and Jerome Street in the Cypress Hills neighborhood, when two men approached him just after 7:30 p.m., authorities said.
One of the men pulled out a gun and demanded money, while another man entered the victim's car through the passenger door and attempted to steal property from his glove compartment. The gunman pistol-whipped him in the head several times, police said.
The victim suffered multiple gashes and bruises to his head and face. An ambulance took him to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
There were no shots fired. No property was stolen from the victim or his vehicle, authorities said. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
